Montana Grizzly Encounter

Montana Grizzly Encounter is a non-profit educational organization that provides a home for rescued bears, and a way for the public to view them safely.

We first learned about Montana Grizzly Encounter from a TV show, Expedition Wild, hosted by Casey Anderson. It's on Saturday mornings on KRCW in the Portland, Oregon, area. We visited in June, 2015.

There are five Grizzly bears in residence at Montana Grizzly Encounter. All are rescue bears. Due to the nature of their earlier lives, none of them may be reintroduced to the wild, and so will live their lives outside of Bozeman, MT. The bears come out of their dens each day on a schedule (see their site), but are not forced to do so. During our visit, Bella was first on the schedule.

Below are links to photos of the different bears we saw. More details about each of the bears may be found at Montana Grizzly Encounter.
